Read on for some of the ways the Friends raised funds during 2006.
During the year our Treasurer Julia Lewis and her sister Sylvia carried out early morning collections at Oakleigh Park and New Barnet railway stations which raised £172.14
On the 16th September the Knights of St. Columba ran a Quiz Evening in aid of the Friends and a good night was had by one and all with a fish and chip supper. The profit of £155.82 was much appreciated.
The weather was reasonable for our Annual Fete but unfortunately there was a World Cup football match on at the same time and the attendance left much to be desired. The net profit was a disappointing £2,782.06. This year the doctors decided to put on a pantomime at the Old Bull Theatre entitled "The Wizard of Arse" the main character wanted an enlargement to a certain part of her body. The show which included a buffet during the interval was a complete sell out and was greatly enjoyed by everyone. The proceeds of £1,000.00 were donated to the Friends for which we are very grateful.
Mr Shaddick of Cherry Hill opened his garden to the public once more and donated £59.00 which was a share of the proceeds to the Friends.
